Multifamily properties are one of the most common forms of housing in the United States, especially in urban areas, where most are tenant-occupied assets. This sector comprises more than 14.5 million units in the main cities of the country. Multifamily properties with at least 150 apartments units and managed in an institutional manner are of great interest to national and international investors. The National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC) estimates in $3.3 trillion the total value of the income of the multi-family sector in the United States.
