The managing team of the Mexican Institute of Ophthalmology, I.A.P. (IMO) was thinking about the challenges that they would face at the upcoming governing board meeting. Since its inception in 1997 the IMO, a nonprofit organization founded by renowned ophthalmologist Dr. Manuel Corona, had stood out as a leading provider of medical and social assistance to patients with ophthalmological conditions. The institute’s governing board would have to make decisions about its future planning, to secure the provision of quality medical care while maintaining sustainable growth in a demanding socioeconomic environment.
